Increasing Grades

Increasing Grades 13 October 2016

There is a test and  a quiz that I need to make up for in Intro to College Math. At the moment I have a D. I know that's not good. And In English I have a C. I wish that was higher too. I know all my grades should be at least a B or more, because I know I'm smart, but I also don't apply myself like I should. I don't know what else. I could ask for a lot of remedial assignments, or even extra credit, but I know a lot of teachers aren't allowed to give that.

How do I Show Patriotism???

How do I show Patriotism??? 7 October 2016

Personally I am not that patriotic. I believe that our country is currently in a really bad place, well not that its gotten worse over the years. It's actually gotten better, but at the same time all the things that we think are "shameful" are now shamelessly in the open. Nonetheless, I'm American so I celebrate Thanksgiving, and give into the materialism of Halloween and Christmas, watch fireworks and eat hot-dogs on the Fourth of July, just like every other American. And I take history classes that teach that immigrants "discovered" this opened land and formed this amazing country... and not that they stole it from the Natives who were already here. I don't know. I show patriotism by saying the plege of allegiance every single week day.

The Flashback.

How Does a Flashback Change the Perception of a Story? September 21, 2016. Wednesday.

A flashback usually is told from first person perspective and therefore is told from an actual person. Unless the first person telling it is a robot, the flashback is given emotion and is able to elicit more emotion from the reader. Flashbacks can also be used to show different perspectives of the same story. Some stories can use a flashback to hint at or completely reveal the twist of the plot. In some cases as well, the entire story can be a flashback which is often told as first person past tense. Flashbacks also change the perception if the story jumps between the present and the flashback because it can show more of where the story or characters were then and where they are now. Back stories of characters are often included in flashbacks, which give depth to the character. This is interesting because the reader may completely hate a character, but then there is a flashback explaining why the character acts the way they do, and suddenly the reader's entire opinion of that character is changed.

What Advice has an Adult Given Me?

September 15, 2016. Thursday.

I don't remember any advice I had been given recently. In my family there is a lot of advice, but it always comes in the form of a lecture. The most repetitive advice lecture has been to stay in school. I could say one thing completely unrelated but for some reason it turns into how much I need to stay in school, get a good career (Haha mom I'm going to be an actress) and make sure I have "the proper husband" before I have children. It's always those things, in that order. School, Career, Good Husband, Children. Stayinschoolstayinschoolstayinschooooooooool. It's so repetitive that's she's drilled it into me. I just know now that if I want to get anywhere is just to stay in school.

If I Could Live Any where in the World?

September 14, 2016. Wednesday.

If I could live anywhere in the world right now, I'd have no idea where that would be. I wish to travel a lot in my life. In April I'll be going on the Spanish language trip to Spain, and I'm super excited for that. But there are plenty of other places I want to visit too. I don't have any specifics though. I just want to see and experience new culture and hear new languages and I'll go where ever that is. I'd love to live in Europe however. The countries there are all much smaller than the United States, and I hear about how people can literally just take a tow hour bus ride or something like that and they'll be in an entire new country. Than just means to me that there's a lot to see just packed into a smaller area. Easier for me then. I'd love to live in Europe.
